Robert Watanabe

49er District, Greater Yosemite Council 2006

     Robert Watanabe currently serves as the 49er District Training and Camping Chairman as well as being active on the Council Properties and Rick management committies. He is Scoutmaster of Troop 224, a position he has held since 1993. Robert is also involved as a committee member of Ship 82, the Siren Song. He served as Assistant Scoutmaster for the World Jamboree in Chile in 1999 and Scoutmaster for the National Jamboree in 2001.

     Robert paid his own way to National Camp School for Camp Ranger and Camp Directors training. He is Woodbadge trained holds the Boy Scout Leaders Award the Scouters Key and the Scoutmasters Award of Merit. He earned the Arrow of Light and Eagle awards as a youth. In addition Robert ia a recipient of the 49er District Training Award and District Award of Merit.

     He served for four years as a member of the Golden Empire Councils propertied committeeand assists as Camp visitor in Area III each summer.

     Robert runs the family farm and is know as a great mechanic. Camp Mensinger has been the recipient of his labor and expertise since 2003. He is a member of the American Mathematical Association and Kappa Mu Epsilon, the math honor society. Robert and his wife Jackie have two children; Craig, an Eagle Scout and Monique who has just recieved the Sea Scouts Quartermaster award.
