Distinguished Citizen Dinner Will Honor
Tom and Diane Stone

Greater Yosemite Council’s 2006 Distinguished Citizen honorees will be Tom and Diane Stone.  Tom served two terms as Council President during the merger of the 49’er and Yosemite Area Councils.  He co-chaired the 2000-2001 Capital Campaign which raised money for capital projects and endowment. He was instrumental in the efforts to build a new Council Service Center in Modesto.  Tom is a Distinguished Eagle Scout having been recognized by the Council in 1991 with that honor.

Tom has recently been called as president of the LDS Papeete Tahiti Temple.  Diane will be temple matron.  Tom stated, “It appears that the … DCD will not only be a great honor for our family, but will also serve as our retirement/farewell to Modesto.  Upon completion of our service in Tahiti, we will relocate somewhere in January, 2010”.

Please join us as we recognize the Stones for their dedicated service to Scouting and the community, and bid them farewell as they move on to new endeavors.  The dinner is scheduled for October 25, 2006.  Place your reservations now by telephoning the Council Service Center at 545-6320.
