Kick-Off

Please make every effort to send a representative from
your unit to this important
Roundtable/ Fall Program Kick-off meeting. Program
packets filled with all the materials you need to get
going for the new year will be available at this meeting
including; great recruiting materials, calendars, popcorn
materials, training and much more!! We hope to see
you there!

Recruiting – If possible,
we would like to schedule as many School Nights as
possible this week. We want to make this an exciting “blitz” Cub
Scout Recruiting Week. Someone from the district committee
will be contacting you shortly to secure your fall
recruiting commitment.
The theme this fall is “Race to Cub Scouting” It’s
fun at every turn. The first 1000 new Cub Scouts will
receive a free Cub Scout Pinewood Derby Lunch Box and
Derby Kit!! Make plans now for a great fall recruiting,
and lets us help you.
New District Executive
Please welcome to the Big Valley District, our newest
District Executive- Rex Starr. Rex is a native
Northern Californian, who was involved in Scouting
as a youth
in San Francisco and San Mateo. Rex served was
a volunteer in Oregon Trails Council as a Webelos Leader,
Troop Committee Chair and also on the District
level
as a Family and Community FOS Chair. That’s
really good stuff!!! Rex then moved to Davis and
was involved on Troop and Venture Committees and
as a Unit Commissioner. Rex now lives in the southern
part of Lodi and his most recent volunteer work
has been as Committee Chair of Troop #291.
Rex brings a wealth
of Scouting, finance, sales and management knowledge
to our district. Please welcome
him by attending the August Roundtable. Welcome aboard
Rex!

Roundtable Promotion
Scout Leaders, welcome to a new Scouting year full
of invigorating and educational roundtables. New events
each month to sharpen your skills. This year, at the
District Awards Dinner in April, we will be holding
a drawing for an incredible opportunity, never given
before.
Each monthly roundtable qualifies you for more chances
to win this drawing. What are the requirements?
