Camp McConnell is located three miles east of Livingston, along the
Merced River. This 5.8 acre site is used for adult and junior leader
training, Cub Scout Resident Camp, and year round camping. Several
campsites are located in a grove of trees near the river. One permanent
building is located on the northwestern portion of the property. This
building has a multipurpose room, fully equipped kitchen, first aid
room, and men's and women's rest rooms with showers. There are separate
use fees for camping, multipurpose room, and kitchen.
Cub Scouts use this camp for day camp, resident camp, Camp Akela,
and Webelos activities.
Boy Scout Troops use this camp for overnight camping. It is an excellent
site to teach young Scouts basic skills. Also, Boy Scout Junior Leader
Training programs are held here.
Adult leaders hold Scout leader basic training courses and regional
Wood Badge advanced training courses are held here, in rotation with
the other councils in this region. Other groups and organizations are
invited to use these facilities.
